(About Dexter / About Sophie / About Jim - see links on the left of this page)
I am a freelance expressive arts practitioner based in Okehampton, Devon and have been working with and coaching young people for over 16 years in formal educational establishments and at festivals and activity centres across the UK. As well as offering freelance workshops in Drama, Storytelling and Expressive Movement throughout the South West and Inset training for teachers, I am also a vastly experienced Youth Theatre Director.
I also have experience of working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs either one to one or in a group situation, including workshops for one of the Gifted and Talented cluster groups in Plymouth. I have been engaged on a temporary basis as an outside professional teaching secondary Drama to all years in a West Country Community School.
Although a large amount of my work is with children and young people, I have a fair amount of experience directing and working with adults. I directed a summer pantomime on the Isle of Wight, was Assistant Director of an opera on the Isle of Man, co-directed an outdoor production of ‘Mother Courage’ and directed and produced a community pantomime with a cast of over 80 adults and children. I have previously run workshops/skills based sessions for adults and have led a number of corporate workshops. I enjoy performing myself when I have the time!
